TCHS offers deadly tour

1 min read

Trumbull County Historical Society will offer a tour of Warren City Hall for only adults focusing on how people in the Victorian age lived … and died.

"Condemned to do so -- A Very Victorian Way to Die!" will look at some of the ways those who lived in the mid-19th century perished, everything from workplace accidents to disease.

According to TCHS Director of Operations and Outreach Ryan MacLennan, "As a staff we knew we wanted to have an Adults Only Tour where we could discuss how Victorians lived, but also how individuals in that era experienced death and dying. Just as Charles Dickens' character Ebenezer Scrooge is reminded of his -- and thus our -- mortality on the holidays by the Ghost of Christmas Yet to Come, we thought what better time to talk about the Victorian way of death."

Tours start at 6 and 6:30 p.m. Friday at city hall, 391 Mahoning Ave. NW, Warren.

Tickets are $25 (including an adult beverage) and are available online at trumbullcountyhistory.org or by emailing info@trumbullcountyhistory.org.
