YOUNGSTOWN — Columbus poets Andy Roberts and Chuck Salmons will be the featured writers at Lit Youngstown’s next First Wednesday Readers Series event.

Roberts is the author of three chapbooks from Pudding House Publications and five from NightBallet Press. Recent publications include American Life In Poetry, Atlanta Review, The Midwest Quarterly and The Sow’s Ear Poetry Review.

He lives in Columbus, where he handles finances for disabled veterans.

Salmons is the recent president of the Ohio Poetry Association. His poems have appeared in numerous journals and anthologies, including Pudding Magazine, Evening Street Review and The Ekphrastic Review. He has two chapbooks, “Stargazer Suite” and “Patch Job.”

He won the 2011 William Redding Memorial Poetry Contest, sponsored by The Poetry Forum of Columbus, and is a recipient of a 2018 Ohio Arts Council Individual Excellence Award for poetry.

The reading starts at 7 p.m. Wednesday at Westside Bowl, 2617 Mahoning Ave., Youngstown, and will be co-hosted by Tony Armeni. An open mic will follow the reading. Admission is free. For more information, go to www.LitYoungstown.org.
