‘Street Scene’ show returns to Austintown Park for ninth edition

The Ninth Street Scene Car and Custom Bike Show is scheduled Sunday at Austintown Park.

This year’s event has been reorganized. Registration starts at 10 a.m. at the park, 6000 Kirk Road, and the show runs from noon to 3 p.m. The Vegas Band will perform from 11:30 a.m. to 1 p.m. and will be followed by DJ Thomas John spinning tunes and announcing door prize winners during the afternoon. Concessions and other vendors will be on site.

“Street Scene” TV host Rick Gurrera and co-host Krysta Sylvester will record a special episode of the Armstrong Neighborhood Channel show that will feature feature many of people’s rides. Youngstown Cycle and Speed has hand made all the trophies for the awards ceremony at the end of the show.

The cost is $10 to enter a car, truck or motorcycle and free for spectators with all proceeds going to the American Heart Association. An afterparty is planned at Quaker Steak & Lube in Austintown, and Austintown Police will assist in an organized cruise to the location.
