Ralph and Delores Malys celebrated their 50th wedding anniversary on Jan. 6, 2023.
Ralph and the former Delores Szabo were married Jan. 6, 1973, at St. Mary's Catholic Church in Warren. The event was officiated by the Rev. Thomas Bishop. Following the ceremony, a dinner reception was at the Cafe 422.
Ralph served in the U.S. Navy and then worked at General Motors Packard Electric division in Warren, from which he retired after 32 years.
Delores was employed at Cortland Bank, retiring after 26 years, working at offices in Williamsfield, Bristolville, Cortland and on Elm Road in Warren.
The couple has three children, Lisa (Andrew) Murphy of Vancouver, B.C., Canada; Gregory (Jennifer) Malys of Boardman; and Kimberly (Lawrence) Pleva of Kinsman. They also have 10 grandchildren.
Through the years they have enjoyed many hobbies and activities like boating, raising horses and antiquing, the last of which led them to selling in an antique shop for more than 18 years. However, one of the biggest highlights of their life has been spending time with their grandchildren.
