Hi everyone, my name is Jeff Rasile and I am the new director of SCOPE in Trumbull County. I am replacing Mike Wilson who was the director for many years and did an outstanding job of growing SCOPE and providing opportunities for seniors in Trumbull County. I am a lifelong resident of the county and currently live in McDonald. I was a teacher at Champion High School for 28 years and retired in May 2025. I am married to Jackie Rasile who is also retired from Champion Local School District as the middle school counselor. Together, we have three children, Bethany, 26, a nurse; Zachary, 24, a financial planner; and Maria, 21, a recent graduate of The Ohio State University.
SCOPE is a branch of Axess Family Services. Currently SCOPE operates eight senior centers in Trumbull County: Bristol, Champion, Cortland, Howland, Hubbard, Niles, Newton Falls and Warren.
Each center provides various events and activities throughout the month. Activities and events include: yoga, tai chi, chair volleyball, bingo, various card games, line dancing and so much more. If you are a senior in Trumbull County and have not had the opportunity to visit one of our centers, I strongly encourage you to do so in order to see the great opportunities that exist.
One upcoming event I would like to showcase is a Real Estate Seminar taking place from Sept. 2 from 6:30 to 8 p.m. Sept. 2 at the Howland SCOPE Center. This seminar will be led by Pauline Zamarelli from Zamarelli Realty. Pauline has over two decades in residential real estate serving Northeast Ohio. There will also be other experts attending who are involved in the real estate process including a home inspector and a bank lender. These experts will answer any questions you might have about the buying/selling process and anything else in between. Although this seminar was planned to help Trumbull County seniors, everyone is welcome no matter the age. So if you are looking to buy/sell a house and have questions or just want to better understand the process, please feel free to attend.
