SCOPE WELCOMES ASSOCIATION: The Alzheimer’s Association will be conducting training in April at various SCOPE Senior Centers.
• Cortland Senior Citizen Center: Understanding Alzheimer’s and Dementia, 11:30 a.m. May 5; Communicating Effectively, 11:30 a.m. June 2.
• Hubbard Senior Citizen Center: The 10 Warning Signs of Alzheimer’s and Dementia, 10 a.m. May 12; Dementia Conversations, 10 a.m. June 4. Call Carla at 330-534-3812 to make reservations.
• Niles Senior Citizen Center: Understanding Alzheimer’s and Dementia, 11:45 a.m. May 21. Training will be conducted by Laura Cosentino, program manager, Alzheimer’s Association, Greater East Ohio Chapter. Call 330-574-2888 to make reservations.
• Newton Falls Senior Citizen Center: The 10 Warning Signs of Alzheimer’s and Dementia, noon April 25. Call Mary at 330-306-9577 to make reservations.
FARMINGTON SENIOR CENTER: The center, 150 College St., Farmington, is open 8 a.m. to 2 p.m. Monday through Friday. Call 330-889-2733.
Lunches are $5 for those 60 and older and $6 for those younger than 60. They are served 11 a.m. to 1 p.m. Tuesdays, Wednesdays, Thursdays and Fridays. Homemade soups, salads and desserts are available.
Activities through the week will include Dominoes, current events, puzzle challenge, Self Reliance Society, walking club, knitting and arts and crafts, Matter of Balance, card games, practical skills, workout with light weights and more.
