OSTOMY SUPPORT: The Youngstown Area Ostomy Support Group will meet at 6 p.m. May 8 at the Tibbetts Wick home care office, 979 Tibbetts Wick Road, Suite A, Girard.
The group offers education, encouragement and support to anyone whose life is affected by an ostomy. Light refreshments will be served.

GRIEVING PROCESS: Grief 101 will be from 5:30 to 6:30 p.m. May 9 at the McKinley Birthplace Home. Learn about the grieving process and how to create a new normal as you work through your grief. APPLICATIONS FOR CAMP: The Down Syndrome Association of the Valley is accepting applications for a bicycle camp for persons with disabilities.
This five-day camp, requiring riders to attend one 75-minute session per day, is taking place June 10-14 at Glenwood Junior High School in Boardman.
Riders must be at least 8 years old, have a disability and walk without an assistive device such as a walker or cane. Riders must be able to side-step quickly to both sides. Riders must have a minimum inseam measurement of 20 inches and weigh no more than 220 pounds.

The iCan Bike program is an offering of iCan Shine, a nonprofit organization that teaches individuals with disabilities to ride a conventional two-wheel bicycle. iCan Shine uses adapted equipment, trained professionals and volunteers. With 75 minutes of instruction over five days, more than 80 percent of riders learn to ride a conventional bicycle independently by the end of camp.

MOBILE MAMMOGRAMS: Mercy Health - Youngstown announced the following mobile mammography screening dates at locations near you in April:
• Today: 8:15 a.m. to 2 p.m., Ohio State Penitentiary, 878 Coitsville-Hubbard Road, Youngstown.
ST. JOE'S AT THE MALL: St. Joe's at Eastwood Mall regular hours are 8 a.m. to 4:30 p.m. Monday through Friday. All classes are open to anyone with a St. Joe's at the Mall membership. Screenings and programs are open to the public. Call 330-652-7542 for information or an appointment.
• Free blood pressure screenings, 9 a.m. to noon Tuesdays, Wednesdays and Thursdays, and 1:30 to 3:30 p.m. Tuesdays.

ADDICTION HELP MEETINGS: SMART Recovery's four-point program is the organization's flagship secular program serving those with addictive behavior, including both substance and activity / process addictions. Trained volunteer facilitators lead mutual support group discussions 7 to 8:30 p.m. every Thursday on topics such as building and maintaining motivation, coping with urges and cravings, managing thoughts, feelings and behaviors, and living a balanced life.
Related tools consistent with evidence-based motivational and cognitive behavioral theories are also offered and discussed.
