AARP TAXAIDE: AARP Taxaide will provide free tax preparation for seniors and low- to moderate-income individuals. Make appointments in person or by phone. You must pick up an Informational Intake Packet with instructions to complete before your preparation appointment.

PERI MEETING: The Public Employee Retirees of Mahoning County Chapter 18, will meet at noon Feb. 6, at Avion on the Water Banquet Center, 2177 W. Western Reserve Road. NUTRITION PROGRAM AVAILABLE: The Trumbull County Nutrition Program for the Elderly is provided by the Trumbull County Office of Elderly Affairs. Meals are delivered to county residents 60 and older who are homebound, unable to cook for themselves and not living with someone who can cook for them. Client donations accepted. Call 330-675-2486. Reservations must be made by 2 p.m. two working days in advance.
The menu is:
TODAY: Burgundy meatballs, brown rice, seasoned Brussels sprouts, dinner roll, applesauce, mini muffin.
MONDAY: Grilled chicken breast with spaghetti sauce and mozzarella, rotini and sauce, green beans, wheat bread, pears, juice, cookie.
TUESDAY: Peach glazed pork, au gratin potatoes, island blend vegetables, dinner roll, fresh apple, sherbet.
WEDNESDAY: Chicken taco, cilantro lime rice, black bean and corn salsa, wheat bread, coleslaw, peaches, mini loaf.
THURSDAY: Salisbury steak with gravy, whipped potatoes, broccoli, dinner roll, mixed fruit, sweet crackers.
JAN. 26: Grilled chicken salad with Italian dressing, chicken strips, salad mix, cucumbers, wheat bread, pineapple, sherbet.
YOGA CLASS: Maureen Lauer Gatta is the instructor for a new free yoga class 11 a.m. Saturdays at the Niles Senior Citizens Center, 14 E. State St. Bring a thin yoga mat.
VOLUNTEERS NEEDED: SCOPE Senior Services needs volunteers during the daytime to help deliver groceries to homebound and disabled citizens. Common assignments include administrative, food service and driving.

SCOPE MENTORSHIPS: SCOPE Senior Services is partnering with Big Brothers / Big Sisters to conduct a monthly mentorship program in which seniors will mentor a child on a regular basis. Big Brothers / Big Sisters will put together a monthly activity for mentors and children to meet and get to know each other. The normal activity program will occur at the Warren Senior Citizens Center at the old YWCA building.
