WARREN -- Koretta LaRonya "Koki" Watson, 54, peacefully entered eternal rest Friday, June 12, 2026, at Summa Health System-Akron Campus.
She was born Nov. 2, 1971, in Warren, a daughter of Sam Watson and Alberta Watson-Black.
A graduate of Warren Western Reserve High School, she received certification in diversified health occupations. Koretta went on to continue her medical studies at Trumbull Business College, obtaining an associate degree in medical billing and coding. She went on to use the skills she obtained working at St. Elizabeth Youngstown Hospital and TCI.
Koretta loved the Lord and was a faithful member of New Creation Bible Fellowship. She also served the community through Second Harvest Food Bank, working with Barnes Temple Church of God in Christ in their food bank ministry. She enjoyed reading, dancing, singing and cooking.
Precious memories of Koretta live on with her mother, Alberta Watson-Black of Warren; four daughters, Karlissa Thomas, Kara and Karlia Faison, and Kayli Watson, all of Warren; one son, Semaj Watson of Warren; three grandchildren, Gianna and Jacobi Thomas and Iyonna Childs, all of Warren, who affectionately called her "Ma'am"; two brothers, Cedric Watson of Homestead, Texas, and Kevin Watson of Warren; five sisters, Khristy (James) Mitchell of Warren, Kimberly Reeves of Austintown, Kelly Stubbs of Indianapolis, Indiana, Kassey Watson, and her sister and best friend, Ketta Watson, both of Warren; and loving godson, Kyree Jones of Austintown.
She was preceded in death by her father; her stepfather, James R. Black Sr.; her maternal and paternal grandparents; and several nieces and nephews.
Honoring Koretta's wishes, no formal service will take place.
The family will be receiving family and friends for a memorial dinner 3 to 5 p.m. Saturday, June 27, 2026, at Restoration Christian Fellowship, 760 Main St. SW, Warren.
Arrangements were entrusted to Staton-Borowski Funeral Home, 962 North Road NE, Warren.
