ELYRIA -- Carlie Stein, 69, passed away Sunday, June 21, 2026.
She was born Oct. 10, 1956, in Fountain Valley, California, and had been a resident of Elyria for the last year and a half.
Although she fulfilled a few different positions over her career, such as a pharmaceutical assistant and an insurance adjuster, her most cherished role was that of being a homemaker.
Carlie had a passion for nature -- specifically waterfalls and sunsets. She also had a passion for her family. She loved spending time with her children and grandchildren, and she was a devoted wife to her husband Michael for 46 years. In addition, she also loved the beach -- even if it was on Lake Erie. Carlie loved to travel -- whether it was a long trip over an extended period of time or even just a short day trip with a family member or friend.
She is survived by her husband, Michael; her children, Ryan Stein (Chrissy) and Kari Giles (Jared); grandchildren, Alexis Benjamin (Devon), Zion Casenhiser, Chance Casenhiser, Tristan Boyer and Bryson Giles; and great-grandson, Deacon Benjamin.
Carlie was preceded in death by her parents, William and Geraldine Dehoff, and her brother, Tim Dehoff.
Friends and family may gather for a celebration of life event 1 to 5 p.m. Sunday, June 28, 2026, at the Hippodrome Banquet Center, 150 High St. NE, Warren, OH 44481. As this is a celebration of Carlie's life, we ask that you dress in your sunny best.
In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made in Carlie's honor to the Cleveland Food Bank at www.greaterclevelandfoodbank.org.
