Road swoon goes on for YSU
GREEN BAY, Wis. (AP) — Khalil Small scored 27 points with seven rebounds and Green Bay beat Youngstown State 85-67 on Saturday.
Kameron Hankerson added 12 points and David Jesperson and Sandy Cohen III 11 each for the Phoenix (10-15, 5-7 Horizon), who made 11 3-pointers.
Small and Jesperson hit 3-pointers to start a 10-0 game-opening run and Green Bay led throughout. The Phoenix led by seven early in the second half when an 8-0 run with five points from Manny Patterson extended the lead to 15 and they remained ahead by double figures.
Cameron Morse scored 17 points for the Penguins (6-17, 4-6), the only one for YSU in double figures.
YSU, which has just one road win, had a 10-0 run to get the Penguins within three, 30-27, with just more than 5 minutes left before Green Bay pushed the lead back to 41-31 at halftime.
