Reunion planned for former YSU personnel

YOUNGSTOWN — Jerrod Calhoun doesn’t want to forget about the Youngstown State men’s basketball team’s past.

He wants to embrace the team’s history and wants to invite past coaches, players, trainers, managers or any other people ever involved with the YSU program.

Calhoun wants to invite these people back for Jan. 19-20. He said there will be a dinner at the Stadium Club on the YSU campus on Jan. 19, and they will be honored during the Jan. 20 game against Indiana University-Purdue University at Indianapolis.

Calhoun said the team has already had emails and contact through social media.

You can contact the men’s team through Danny Reese, assistant to the men’s basketball coach, at, or by calling the office at 330-941-3004, or through Twitter at @YSUMensHoops

“We want to show them what our vision is for the program and get them back,” Calhoun said.

He also wants former players to be part of a mentoring program for current players, even assisting them in the business world.

Calhoun said he’ll share what future projects are upcoming.

“It’s going to be a fun night,” he said.
