Bristol edges Windham; Elza reaches 1,000
BRISTOL 77, WINDHAM 69: BRISTOLVILLE — Heading into Friday’s game against Windham, senior Gage Elza needed 15 points to reach the 1,000 point threshold. He nearly doubled it in the Panthers’ overtime victory over the Bombers.
Elza scored 26 points, leading the Panthers (15-3, 11-1). He was one of four scorers for the Panthers to reach double-figures. Matt Stephens scored 14 and both Nick Church and Damion Durst scored 10.
Bert Jones had a dominant game for Windham (11-9, 9-4) scoring 34 points. Bailey Rutherford added 18 points.
The Panthers won their eighth-straight NAC-Stars title.
PYMATUNING VALLEY 62, MATHEWS 50: VIENNA — Austin Roberts scored 16 points to lead the Lakers past the Mustangs in this Northeastern Athletic Conference battle. Jacob Saxion scored 14 points, while Nick Sapp added 12 and Noah Wilkerson contributed 11 for Pymatuning Valley (13-4, 11-2 NAC).
The Mustangs (10-8, 6-7) rallied from 16 points down in the third quarter, but it wasn’t enough as they fell to Pymatuning Valley.
Mathews’ John Smith had 11 of his team-leading 16 points in the third. Dominic Greenwood added 12 points.
GRAND VALLEY 54, MAPLEWOOD 41: ORWELL — Grand Valley snapped a seven game losing streak. Trailing after the third quarter the Mustangs stormed back, outscored Maplewood 18-3 in the final quarter to win. Leading Grand Valley (6-13, 3-10) was Ashton Zupancic who scored 21. Malik Mitchell added 17.

CHALKER 69, LORDSTOWN 59: SOUTHINGTON — Chalker’s 20 point second quarter guided them to a victory over the Red Devils, snapping a four-game skid for the Wildcats.
Five players for the Wildcats (6-15, 4-9) scored in double-figures. Aidan Ricks scored 16 points, Jordan Kellar scored 13 points and three players scored 12 points. Dylan Dye, Kyle Caracanas and Logan Regal.
Marcell Jenkins led the Red Devils (2-16, 1-11) scoring 16 points. Marcos Lopez added 13.
