MECCA -- Damion Durst had a game-high 16 points as Bristol won its fourth straight Battle for the Paddle, an event that started in the 2012-13 season, defeating Maplewood 68-37.
Gage Elza added 13 points, while Mile Wiebe put in 10 for Bristol (2-1). Elza had nine points in the second quarter to lead Bristol, which led Maplewood 31-10.
Hunter Bates led the Rockets (0-4) with 11 points, while Ryan Bedlion added 10.
Maplewood has not won the trophy since beating Bristol 53-49 in 2015.
The trophy is an oar that each school drew and painted a school design on the side assigned to each school, which is separated by state Route 88 and Mosquito Lake.
¯ SPRINGFIELD 62, JACKSON-MILTON 32: NORTH JACKSON -- Evan Ohlin scored a game-high 29 points as the Tigers rolled past the Blue Jays in Mahoning Valley Athletic Conference play.
Drew Clark added 12 for Springfield (3-0, 1-0 MVAC), which outscored Jackson-Milton (1-2, 0-1) 37-17 in the second half.
Cole Grope led the Blue Jays with 10 points.
¯ MATHEWS 75, HEARTLAND CHRISTIAN 59: COLUMBIANA -- Tyler Roscoe had 14 of his game-high 30 points in the first quarter as the Mustangs took a 26-7 lead in a rout of Heartland Christian.
John Smith added 15 points and 11 rebounds for Mathews (3-1). Cade Ross added 16 for Heartland Christian (0-3), while Beckett Richards put in 11.
¯ CHALKER 52, LORDSTOWN 49: LORDSTOWN -- The Wildcats outscored the Red Devils 16-9 in the fourth quarter to pull past Lordstown in this Northeastern Athletic Conference, Stripes Division opener.
Trystan Mollohan led Chalker (2-4, 1-1 NAC Stripes) with 14 points, while Jordan Kellar added 10.
Austin Milhoan paced the Red Devils (1-3, 0-1) with 14 points, while Nick Frank (11) and Marcel Jenkins (10) also scored in double figures.
¯ WINDHAM 58, ROOTSTOWN 42: WINDHAM -- Tyler Collins had 14 points and 10 rebounds to lead the Bombers past the Rovers in this battle of former Portage Trail Conference foes. Bailey Rutheford put in 12 points, while Phillip Maiorca added 10 for Windham (2-1), which shot 21 of 49 from the floor.
Rootstown, which was 15 of 51 from the floor, was led by Scott Steger with 23 points.
¯ GRAND VALLEY 68, ST. JOHN 61: ASHTABULA -- At the end of three quarters, Grand Valley and St. John were tied at 49.
Grand Valley used the final minutes to outscore St. John 19-12 for the win. Grand Valley was paced by Matt Mitchell's 30 points, and Ashton Zupancic's 20.
¯ LOWELLVILLE 49, MINERAL RIDGE 43: MINERAL RIDGE -- Lowellville's first quarter was the most important of all quarters, as it jumped out to a 16-8 lead quickly. Mineral Ridge gave its best effort, however it would not be enough. Dakota Raggazine led Mineral Ridge with 11 points.

¯ GRAND VALLEY 43, BERKSHIRE 35: ORWELL -- Brandy Smith had 13 points, while Megan Hopes added 11 as the Mustangs beat the Badgers.
Alexis Mahaffey added nine points and 17 rebounds for Grand Valley (2-2).
