¯ BRISTOL 104, NEWBURY 30: BRISTOL -- Bristol's Tommy Donadio got just what he needed in a big win -- 23 points.
That output gave Donadio 1,000 career points and helped lead Bristol (2-0, 2-0 Northeast Athletic Conference Stripes Division) to the victory. Newbury got better as the game went one, but it was much too little, much too late.
John Tropf led the Knights (0-3, 0-2) with eight points. Bristol made an incredible 16 3-pointers and had four scorers in double figures. Bryan Gabrielson led with 30 points, Matt Church added 19 and Gage Elza put up 12. Danny Lamosek grabbed 12 rebounds for the Panthers.
¯ LORDSTOWN 72, BLOOMFIELD 10: LORDSTOWN -- Lordstown got out to a slow start but didn't allow a point in the second and third quarters to get the big win.
Lordstown (2-1, 1-1 Northeastern Athletic Conference Stripes Division) were led by Jenkins with 14 points as he was the only player in double figures. For Bloomfield (0-2, 0-2), it was led by Cameron Parlce who had seven of the Cardinals 10 points. Lordstown and Bloomfield each hit two 3-pointers in the game.
¯ WINDHAM 83, CHALKER 39: WINDHAM -- After a relatively close first quarter, Windham took over and won the game big.
Windham (3-0, 2-0 Northeastern Athletic Conference Stripes Division) took a 51-18 halftime lead after leading 26-13 after the first quarter. Eric Park led the way for the Bombers as he put up eight points, eight steals, six assists and four rebounds. Mason Angle added 23 points and nine rebounds. Blaze Angle also helped with 18 points. They were the only two in double figures.
For Chalker (1-2, 1-1), Jake Bee led it with eight points
¯ PYMATUNING VALLEY 78, MAPLEWOOD 57: ANDOVER -- It was the Jacob Freeman show as Pymatuning Valley took the win over Maplewood.
Freeman put on a clinic with 27 points and 20 rebounds to help Pymatuning Valley (1-2, 1-1 Northeastern Athletic Conference Stars Division). Outside of Freeman's game, three other guys scored double-figure points with Trent Panak (12), Nick Sapp (10) and Austin Roberts (11).
For Maplewood (0-2, 0-1), Thomas Dorsey led the Rockets with 19 points and three assists. Thomas Rink helped with 13 points and nine rebounds. Hunter Bates had a double-double with 12 points and 10 rebounds.
¯ SPRINGFIELD 64, WESTERN RESERVE 61: NEW MIDDLETOWN -- In a tightly-contested game, Springfield found a way to outlast Western Reserve.
After Springfield had just five points in the second quater, it seemed Western Reserve (2-0, 1-0 Mahoning Valley Athletic Conference) would be home free. Springfield cam back to take the game however. Five of the six guys that saw the floor for Springfield got into double figures. John Ritter led the way with 10 points and eight rebounds for the Tigers.
For Reserve, Kade Hilles led the way with 21 points and 13 rebounds. He also recorded four steals in the game. Free throws were the difference however as Springfield hit 15 compared to Reserve's seven.
¯ JACKSON-MILTON 88, HEARTLAND CHRISTIAN 36: COLUMBIANA -- Paul Bortz scored a game-high 29 points and grabbed 11 rebounds as the Blue Jays raced past the Lions in a nonconference game. Bortz scored 21 in the first half, and Mason Robison put in all 15 of his points in the initial two quarters as Jackson-Milton (1-2) took a 49-16 lead. The Blue Jays held a 50 to 31 rebounding advantage.
