Sound off!

Every time it rains any great amount, Eagle Creek Road floods. This is a years-old problem. Why don't the powers that be simply raise the road a couple of feet in that area? That must be less costly in the long run. I don't understand why the people who live in this area put up with this constantly.

I just saw U.S. Rep. Tim Ryan's picture in the newspaper looking over pot plants being cultivated in a warehouse. He wants to make recreational pot legal in Ohio. Do people know he co-chairs the congressional Addiction, Treatment and Recovery Caucus and that pot is a pathway to harder drugs? I lost a brother-in-law who started out on pot and kept looking for something else to satisfy his addiction to get high. Now we visit his gravesite.

I am sick of cable companies that raise prices whenever they feel like it. They keep getting richer, and we keep getting poorer. How can we stop this?

We would appreciate if neighbors checked fences and gates to keep them in good repair so their horses and cows don't escape. Often animals escape into our yard. We are surprised more animals aren't killed on the road or cause accidents. When our neighbors realize they're gone, they chase the animals around our yard, leaving ruts and manure. It would be nice if they would come back and repair the damage and collect the manure.

I think back to 2016-17 laughing at all the people wearing red MAGA hats and junk vehicles with Trump bumper stickers. Today you hardly ever see any. Perhaps as they file their income tax, getting little or no return, or even owe money, they feel duped. Maybe they're tired of the juvenile tweets and name calling or possibly a medieval wall Mexico was suppose to pay for or even factories closing. How about America was already great? Anyway, it's refreshing to see some come to their senses.

In El Paso this week, there were 2 rallies. Trump's rally listed positive achievements, optimism for America, protecting our sovereignty and chants of USA. Democratic presidential hopeful Beto O'Rourke's rally waved Mexican flags while hanging and burning a Trump look-a-like and promoting open borders. In 2020, these are the choices. I choose America first!

Is it supposed to be a mere cruel coincidence that the hearing affecting hundreds of GM employees is being held on the date the plant is to be idled? Did the Barra group just want the GM logo? Did they really make $8.1 billion in profits selling cars? Lordstown was favored by the old paint offices of the 1940s, but where are their apprentices now? They could mix her favorite hippie "pink" with quality to prevent the peel.
