Thom Duma’s downtown growth very noteworthy

2 min read

Thomas Duma, owner of Thom Duma Fine Jewelers, has cast anchor and is here to stay, he said recently.

His dedication to Trumbull County and specifically to Warren is worthy of praise, especially at a time when many brick-and-mortar stores are downsizing.

Thomas Duma, who took over the shop originally operated by his father, called his location in downtown Warren and operating under the family name "special."

The business is so special, in fact, that Duma is in the process of renovating and expanding -- a $500,000 investment that will add 500 square feet and allow him to grow the store's Rolex showcase and bridal offerings. The work is expected to be complete by March.

Duma recently described his location on Warren's Courthouse Square this way:

"It's the whole roots, just being here and being part of the downtown. For myself, I have been here since 1980. I have seen a lot of the ebbs and flows in downtown Warren, and I think where we are now is the best tidal wave we have been riding since my tenure here," Duma said.

He said he sees his business as an anchor for many of the newer downtown shops and restaurants.

Kudos to Duma for his commitment to his roots, and congratuations on his continuing success.
