WARREN -- Kelly Savopoulos, 89, passed away Sunday, Jan. 1, 2017, at Shepherd of the Valley in Howland.
She was born Dec. 29, 1927, in Mitilini, Greece, the daughter of the late John and Eugenia Komninos. She came to Warren in 1947.
She retired from Packard Electric as a taper in the harness department after 32 years. She was a member St. Demetrios Greek Orthodox Church in Warren, Yasou Club and Senior Citizens Club. She enjoyed fishing, gardening and cooking.
She is survived by her children, Ernest "Ernie" (Jean) Savopoulos, Virginia Parker and Mercene (Micky) York all of Warren; five grandchildren; and three great-grandchildren.
She is preceded in death by parents; husband, Gust Savopoulos, whom she married Feb. 8, 1948, and passed away Dec. 23, 1988; grandchild, Tina Parker; a great-great-grandson; one brother; and one sister.
Family and friends may call 4 to 6 p.m. Wednesday with a 6 p.m. Trisagion service and 12 to 12:30 p.m. Thursday at the Peter Rossi & Son Memorial Chapel, 1884 North Road NE, Warren, OH 44483.
A service will be 1 p.m. Thursday at St. Demetrios Greek Orthodox Church with the Rev. Constantine Valantasis officiating.
Burial will be in Oakwood Cemetery in Warren.
In lieu of flowers, contributions may be made in Kelly's name to St. Demetrios Greek Orthodox Church, 429 High St., Warren, OH 44481, the Cleveland Clinic Eye Bank or St. Jude Childrens Hospital, 501 St. Jude Place, Memphis, TN 38105.
