WARREN -- Hattie Chestnut McNeal, 88, died Saturday, Dec. 31, 2016, at the Cleveland Clinic, following a brief illness.
She was born Feb. 6, 1928, in Sumter, S.C., the daughter of James William and Alice Spann Chestnut.
She was an elementary teacher in the Warren City School System and a member of the Second Baptist Church.
She is survived by three daughters, Joyce E. Owens of Baltimore, Cynthia R. Grant of Cleveland and Lisa K. McCoy of Richmond, Va.; four brothers, Moses Chestnut and Isaiah Chestnut, both of Baltimore, McDonald Chestnut of Jarrettsville, Md. and John Chestnut of Sumter, S.C.; two sisters, Catherine McCray and Naomi Chestnut, both of Sumter; four grandchildren; and 11 great-grandchildren.
She was preceded in death by two husbands, Lannie McCoy and William Robert McNeal; one son, Lannie Stanley McCoy; five sisters; and two brothers.
Funeral services will be 11 a.m. Saturday at the Second Baptist Church, with 10 to 11 a.m. calling hours including a 10:30 a.m. Eastern Star Ceremony.
Burial will be at Pineview Memorial Park Cemetery.
Arrangements are by the Sterling-McCullough Williams Funeral Home.
