WEATHERSFIELD -- Firefighters from Weathersfield, Girard and McDonald responded to a semi-tractor-trailer that was smoking at the Pilot truck stop on Salt Springs Road Wednesday morning.
There were no injuries. According to a report, the driver told authorities he smelled smoke but didn't see any flames and went inside the store. When he came out, the report states, the rig was full of smoke.
The driver, who was on a trip from New Jersey to Indiana, lost the services of his truck due to the fire, according to the report. The cause of the fire is under investigation although a fire official thought it may be electrical.
