NILES — The Eastwood Mall is giving away retail space for one business.

The Small Shop Showdown will run through June 7 for retailers to pitch their business ideas that will be evaluated by mall leasing staff. The winner, picked June 21, will have 26 weeks of free rent inside the mall July 22 to Jan. 20, 2020.

In addition, the winner will receive a package of promotional help to get the business off the ground that includes posters, news release, digital signage and some advertising. The winner must be ready to open July 22. The space inside the mall hasn’t been determined.
