CHAMPION -- St. William Parish, 5411 Mahoning Ave. NW, will host a Lenten Mission "Our Lenten Journey With Grace and Gladness," at 6:30 p.m. Sunday and 7 p.m. Monday with Emmy nominated television actor Frank Runyeon. He has received national acclaim for his work as a translator and performer of Biblical texts over the past 25 years. He is a graduate of Princeton University and has studied at Yale Divinity School and General Theological Seminary.

Runyeon, who appeared on "As the World Turns," "General Hospital," "Falcon Crest," "Melrose Place" and "L.A. Law," will present "Luke: Stories on the Road" on Sunday that include the famous parables in Luke's travel narrative reflecting on the true message of Jesus' stories.

On Monday, Runyeon will present "The Sermon on the Mount" plus "Hollywood vs. Faith: The Struggle to Live Faithfully in the Media Age." Runyeon retells the Sermon on the Mount in a humorous way as recounted by the apostle Matthew. Runyeon will reflect on how the mass media has moved further and further from the Christian way of life.

He identifies the biggest distortions Hollywood promotes, sharing personal experiences of how they have shaped lives, and suggests answers on to how to live faithfully as Christians while still enjoying the best of the media.

A free-will offering will be taken and the Lenten Mission will be held.
