WHAT: Township trustees end-of-year meeting, Thursday
PRESENT: Dan Suttles, Ron Haun, and Gary Lees
Trustees:
• Approved paying starting part-time patrolmen $10 per hour with no benefits; those with more than one year experience $11 per hour with no benefits; those with more than two years $11.50 per hour with no benefits; and those with five or more years $12 per hour with no benefits, all on a rotating work basis;
• Rehired current part-time firefighters / emergency medical technicians at $9.15 per hour; part-time firefighters / paramedics at $11 per hour; and advanced emergency medical technicians at $10.05 per hour, with no benefits for all classifications;
• Approved paying trustees maximum salary in accordance with Ohio Revised Code. Officials said pay is around $13,000 annually;
• Rehired Peter Griggs as code enforcement attorney at $225 per hour;
• Increased appropriations for the police department by $25,000 due to increases in funds from impound lot.
• Renewed the contract with Geauga-Trumbull Solid Waste District for recycling bins at the fire station.
