CENTER LUNCH AND LEARN: The Jewish Community Center of Youngstown will host a two-part Wellness Lunch & Learn with Medical Mutual of Ohio sales and service representative Roy Avery. He will explain SilverSneakers "10 Steps to a Healthy Lifestyle." SilverSneakers is a free fitness program for seniors offered through several insurance plans.
This Lunch & learn series will focus on the "10 Steps to a Healthy Lifestyle." The series is free and open to everyone. Lunch will be served.
Part One is steps one through five noon to 1 p.m. June 15 in the multipurpose room of the JCC. Part Two will be steps six through 10 noon to 1 p.m. July 26 in the multi-purpose room.

HISTORY OF THE ARSENAL: The Johnston Senior Center, 5922 Warren Road, Cortland, will host Dr. Ralph Pfingsten, author of "The History of the Ravenna Arsenal," at 10:30 a.m. June 25. Dr. Pfingsten will discuss the Ravenna Arsenal and the mysteries behind it. "The History of the Ravenna Arsenal" includes a comprehensive history of the Ravenna Arsenal from its inception to now. The book features more than 900 photographs and drawings and will be available for purchase.
This program is free and open to the public. There will be refreshments available. If you would like a lunch following the program, or for more information, call the center by June 20 at 330-924-0412.
NUTRITION SITES AVAILABLE: The Trumbull County Nutrition Program for the Elderly is provided by the Trumbull County Office of Elderly Affairs and operates nutrition sites at seven locations in the county. Meals will be delivered to county residents 60 and older who are homebound, unable to cook for themselves and not living with someone who can cook for them. Client donations are accepted. 911 SPECIAL NEEDS REGISTRY: To be placed on the Trumbull County 911 Special Needs Registry Program to alert first responders in case of emergency, fill out forms at the Trumbull County Commissioners Office, the Trumbull County Recorder's Office, all Trumbull County SCOPE centers or on the county 911 website at www.trumbull911.co.trumbull.oh.us under the "Special Needs" tab.

SCOPE RIDES: SCOPE and the Trumbull County Transit Board provide seniors 60 and older free rides to and from the centers 7 a.m. to 6 p.m. Mondays through Fridays, and 8 a.m. to 3 p.m. weekends and holidays. Call the center directly three days in advance of the desired trip.
