WHAT: Board of Education meeting Tuesday
PRESENT: Betsy Dunn, Steve Gilanyi, Al Haberstroh, Richard Selep and John Shaffer
The Board:
• Heard from resident Barb Eckelberger, whose family has established the James L. Kovar Educational Foundation with plans to present scholarships to graduating Chalker High School seniors. The board approved the scholarship program;
• Approved the 2018-19 school calendar with first day for students Aug. 22 and last day May 30, 2019 with graduation May 25, 2019;
• Approved open enrollment to the district for students from any school district;
• Approved a five-year contract with NEOMIN for Internet access beginning July 1.
