Communicate with God
DEAR EDITOR:
A young girl of about 13 years of age recently attended a get-together at my home. She noticed a sign in my yard that read "Happy Birthday Jesus." She asked my granddaughter what does that have to do with Christmas? Thankfully my granddaughter knew. When I heard about this, I began to wonder how many other young people don't know what Jesus has to do with Christmas?
Throughout history, mankind has sought to communicate with one another. Perhaps some type of sign language was used in the beginning. Then came the spoken word. Scrolls and books were used. Then early forms of mail. Communication was carried by stagecoach and the Pony Express. The telegraph, then the telephone brought us all closer together. Finally the internet has exploded as a way to keep in touch.
What is really sad in America today is who we have lost communication with.
God is still with us, waiting and longing to hear from you. You don't need an expensive phone or a computer to reach him. All you need is an open heart, willing to reach out.
