SEMINAR SET: Trinity Baptist Church Institute will sponsor the 24th annual Christian education seminar 10 a.m. to 3 p.m. today at the church, 235 Highland Ave., Warren. Class facilitator is the Rev. Edward L. Cryer of Unity Baptist Church of Cleveland, who will be speaking on ''Prayer and Power of Prayer.''
CHORUS ANNIVERSARY: The Male Chorus of First Baptist Church-Braceville, 1300 Cedar St. SW, will celebrate its 18th anniversary 6 p.m. today. Churches and musical groups from the community and surrounding area will appear on the program.

PASTORAL ANNIVERSARY: King of Kings Fellowship Church of God in Christ, 634 High St., Warren, will celebrate the fourth pastoral anniversary of Pastor George Austin Sr. and Annette Austin Sunday. Morning speaker is Minister Steven Jones at 11 a.m. and afternoon speaker is Pastor Johnny Austin, pastor of New Covenant Church, at 4 p.m.

SPECIAL MASS: Bishop George V. Murry will celebrate a special Mass 2 p.m. Sunday at the Basilica of St. John the Baptist, Canton, to mark the wedding anniversaries of 65 couples who are being honored for a total of 3,176 years of wedded life ranging from 25 to 70 years. Wilbert and Ida Pedrotty, parishioners of St. Joseph Parish, Massillon, are celebrating 70 years. Other couples celebrating include 20 couples married 53-64 years, 23 couples married 50 years, 12 couples will observe 40 years and seven couples will mark 25 years. The celebration includes renewal of marriage vows at Mass and a personalized certificate. A reception will be held for the honored couples and their families following the Mass in the School Hall, hosted by members of the St. John Guild.
BUCKET LIST: The Adult Religious Education Committee of St. John Paul II Parish, 420 North St. NW, Warren, will host guest speaker Sr. Kathleen McCarragher, who will be speaking 3 p.m. Sunday in the social hall.
Sister Kathleen's topic is titled "A Faith 'Bucket List,'" exploring things we ought to do before we die. Sister Kathleen became involved with religious education since 1974 and entered the Ursuline Sisters in 1976. She has been ministering at St. Rose Parish in Girard for the past five years and lives at the Ursuline Motherhouse in Canfield.
CHURCH ANNIVERSARY: New Freedom Missionary Baptist Church, 1590 Tod Ave. SW, Warren, will celebrate the 37th anniversary of the church at 4 p.m. Sunday. Pastor Robert Stringer will officiate and there will be a guest pastor from Mount Gilead Baptist Church, Youngstown.
TALK SESSION: Temple El Emeth in Liberty will hold Schmoozing with Shmulik 10:30 a.m. to noon Monday with Sam Kooperman leading the group with stories, jokes, music and videos in Yiddish.
CONCERNED PASTORS: Concerned pastors of the city of Warren are asking for all who are able to join in a citywide time of personal prayer and fasting for the city. The group is joining together in prayer and fasting to spiritually stand against the evils that are manifesting and devastating communities locally, regionally and nationally. The season of prayer and fasting will begin Monday.
FOUNDATIONS IN MINISTRY: The Ursuline Center Office of Lay Ministry Formation is offering Foundations in Ministry, a 20-session program to deepen the spirituality, theological knowledge and ministry skills of adults. BIBLE CLASS: St. Rose Parish, Girard, will offer a Bible class with Sister Janice Kusick 10:30 a.m. to noon Tuesdays through Nov. 21. The topic is "Pilgrimage in the Footsteps of Jesus."
BIBLE STUDY: Agape Assembly Church, 426 Nevada Ave. SW, Warren, has started a new Bible study at noon Wednesdays. The series is ''Life Principles for the Storms of Life.'' The church is also adding a noon day prayer on the second Saturday of each month.
GUEST SPEAKERS: Anicia Clayton Ministries, 904 E. Market St. Warren, will have guest speaker Apostle David Singelton of Rochester, N.Y., 7 p.m. Wednesday to Friday.

MAN 2 MAN CONFERENCE: A Man 2 Man men's conference will be 7 p.m. Friday, 9 a.m and 7 p.m. Oct. 28 and 11:30 a.m. Oct. 29. at Greater Apostolic Faith Church, 2571 Tod Ave. NW, Warren. The theme is ''Ironmen: Sharpening Men to Transform their World.'' Speakers are Apostle Ulyssey Tuff of Decatur, Ga.; District Elder Sylvester Awls of Toledo; Elder Gary Foreman of Akron; and Elder Emmitt Nevels of Youngstown.
FAMILY DISCOVERY DAY: The annual Roots Tech Family Discovery Day will be 9 a.m. to noon Oct. 28 at The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints, 2205 Tibbetts-Wick Road, Girard. EVENING OF PRAISE: An Evening of Praise and Worship with Divine Worship of Sharon, Pa., will be held 6 p.m. Oct. 28 at Valley Baptist Church, 305 Depot St., Niles. There will be a love offering.
ANNIVERSARY MARKED: Restoration Christian Fellowship, 760 Main Ave., Warren, will celebrate its 10th anniversary with national recording artist and season seven "Sunday Best" winner Geoffrey Golden. He will be in concert with his band and background singers 7 p.m. Oct. 28. Also featured on this free program will be Kingdom Movement.
CELEBRATION OF REFORMATION: Celebration of the Reformation will be 10:30 a.m. Oct. 29 at St. Paul Lutheran Church. It is the 500th anniversary of the Reformation, and the church will be celebrating the "Deutsche Messe" worship service as Martin Luther and his congregation would have experienced it in 1517.
The Lutheran congregations of St. Paul, Living Lord and Emmanuel will be together with a joint choir, and a special anthem arranged for the occasion. The commemoration of the 500th anniversary of the Reformation, led by Catholic Diocese of Youngstown Bishop George Murry and the Lutheran bishop of the ELCA, Abraham Allende, will be 6 p.m. Oct. 29 with a joint evening prayer service at St. Columba Cathedral, Youngstown.
Evening prayer features Lutheran and Catholic vocalists and musicians from churches throughout the NEOS, ELCA and the Diocese of Youngstown. A reception follows in the Cathedral Parish Hall.
On Oct. 29, 2000, Bishop Thomas Tobin and Bishop Marcus Miller signed a covenant to pray, study and act together for Christian unity. The Bishops also established a Lutheran-Catholic Covenant Commission to oversee implementation of the covenant such as this ecumenical evening prayer.
MISSIONARY SERVICE: The Senior Missionary Society of First Baptist Church-Braceville, 1300 Cedar St. SW, will have the Rev. Marcia L. Dinkins of the New Jerusalem Fellowship Church as guest speaker 11 a.m. Oct. 29. Dinkins was ordained into the ministry in April 2003 while serving at Spirit Love Ministries. She has developed and implemented various programs such as Grandparents Raising Adolescents with Care and Encouragement, a program for grandparent caregivers and Characteristic Helping Adolescents Grow Nurture and Excel, a teen group for girls that provided an open forum for teens to address challenges they were facing. She is the executive director and lead organizer for Valley Voices in Action where she organizes faith-based institutions and community members and stakeholders on issues impacting their communities on the local and state level.
Music ministry will be rendered by the senior choir.
ORDINATION SET: The First Unitarian Universalist Church of Youngstown will celebrate the ordination of the Rev. Joseph Boyd in a ceremony 5 p.m. Oct. 29. The ceremony will be held in the sanctuary of UUYO, 1105 Elm St., in Youngstown. Members and friends of UUYO, local dignitaries and clergy are welcome to attend. Clergy and seminarians are invited to attend a reception at 4 p.m. Boyd arrived at UUYO in July having completed an internship at All Souls Church of Tulsa, Okla. He has a Master's of Divinity from Union Theological Seminary in New York, where he served as a chaplain at Rikers Island Prison and held a preaching fellowship at the First Unitarian Church of Cleveland in Shaker Heights. Joseph resides in Youngstown with his wife, Jennifer.

FAMILY CONCERT: The Stevens Family Concert series will host Jeff and Sheri Easter 7 p.m. Nov. 2 at Pleasant Valley Church in Niles. A love offering will be received.
ALTERNATIVE CHRISTMAS: First Presbyterian Church of Warren will hold an alternative Christmas Nov. 5. This year's charities are Animal Welfare League, S.O.P.H.I.A., Second Harvest Food Bank, Someplace Safe, Lebanon Schools (NESSL) and PCUSA Water for the People.
RETREAT SET: Villa Maria Education & Spirituality Center will host a weekend retreat with Dr. Anthony J. Gittins, CSSP, titled "Bring Forth the Realm of God." This retreat is scheduled 7 p.m. Nov. 12 to noon Nov. 17. The retreat will cover a variety of topics on the way we approach the vocation of a Christian.
For seven years, Gittins was part of Genesis House -- a community where women struggle to escape from prostitution. He is also the author of 16 books on theological and anthropological topics, and on mission and spirituality.
