WARREN -- The Mecca man who was found face down partly in the Mahoning River Sunday afternoon accidentally drowned, according to a report released Wednesday by Trumbull County Coroner Dr. Humphrey Germaniuk.
The body of Frank E. Vondrasek, 47, of Mecca was found about 3 p.m. Sunday at Packard Park after several people saw a body half in the water near the ballfields.
A Coroner's Office spokeswoman said Germaniuk ruled the drowning accidental.
A cause of death is still pending on the body of a man found July 24 in a burned van on Warren's southside. The body was identified by the coroner as Michael Walker, 31, of McMyler Street SW, Warren. However, the coroner's spokeswoman said the investigation is still continuing.
According to police reports, Walker's body was charred and lying halfway out of the minivan's sliding side door on Pershing Avenue at Risher Road SW. Foul play is suspected, the report states.
