YOUNGSTOWN -- Mercy Health is moving 40 local positions to its home office market near Cincinnati, the health care system announced.
Workers in the patient access center, along with those in back office positions, are being relocated from Youngstown to the main revenue recycle facility in Mason.
The move is taking place throughout this month.
The health care provider said the move is part of its continuing effort to improve the company and that all affected employees will have the opportunity to relocate.
Those workers have been provided with a relocation benefit option to enable them to move, Mercy Health Leaders said.
The company issued the following written statement, "As we navigate the dynamics of the transformative health care environment, Mercy Health continues to evaluate how we can best improve the health of our communities while serving as good stewards of our heritage and our ministry resources. We're doing this in a variety of ways, including through financial diligence, a focus on innovation and the alignment of our talent to support this work."
Cincinnati-based Mercy Health has eight regions, including Youngstown, in Ohio and Kentucky.
The company said its talent exchange program will work with individuals to identify and match them with available positions within the health care system, and fast-track them in the hiring process. Mercy Health also will provide assistance for those pursuing opportunities in the community, the company said.
