PATRICK HENRY PROGRAM: The Cortland Library Branch will present "Patrick Henry: American Revolutionary Statesman" 11 a.m. Saturday. Henry was one of the Founding Fathers of the United States and a major figure in the American Revolution. He was also a noted orator. Guest speaker Patrick Jolly is a direct descendant of Patrick Henry. He has portrayed Patrick Henry in two movies and is the annual speaker at the Fourth of July celebration at Patrick Henry's former home in Red Hill, Virginia.
PROJECT WALK WARM: The Champion Local School District announces Project Walk Warm will start Monday at the new Champion PK-8 Building and conclude on April 11, 2019. The school will be open 3:30 to 5 p.m. Monday through Thursday for people of the community to walk indoors during the inclement winter weather. Walkers must be over 18 years of age and sign in the first time they walk. One level quarter mile walking maps will be available. LIBRARY BOOK SALE: The Kinsman Free Public Library, 6420 Church St., will hold a fall book sale 9 a.m. to 1 p.m. Saturday, and 9 a.m. to 6:30 p.m. Monday to Nov. 8. The sale will be located in the activity room of the library. Bags will be provided on the bag sale days. For information, call 330-876-2461.
MOSQUITO LAKE: The Trumbull County Food and Agriculture Committee will meet 8:30 a.m. Friday at the Gustavus Federated Church, 8850 Youngstown Kingsville Road, Farmdale. The program will be a question and answer session on Mosquito Lake.
HYPNOSIS SESSION: A group hypnosis session for weight loss and smoking cessation will be 1 p.m. Saturday at the Yoga Center, 972 Youngstown Kingsville Road, Vienna, inside the Governors Insurance building. SCAVENGER HUNT: The United Way of Youngstown and the Mahoning Valley has teamed up with Simon Roofing to hold an iSpy Nature Scavenger Hunt for Success After 6 students and their families 10 a.m. Saturday at Boardman Park. The Success After 6 families will be given iSpy Scavenger Hunt lists and will head to the park to take photos of all the items. Prizes will be awarded.
HOLIDAY CRAFT SHOW: Blessed Sacrament Parish's Relay for Life Team will host a holiday craft show 10 a.m. to 3 p.m. Saturday at the parish, 3020 Reeves Road NE, Warren. All proceeds from the event will benefit the American Cancer Society. For information, call 330-372-2215.
