TCAP hosts talent and fashion show
Further Entertainment presents Stop the Violence Back to School Talent and Fashion Show at 6 p.m. Friday at Trumbull Community Action Program, 1230 Palmyra Road SW, Warren.
The talent show will feature children in grade school and high school and include singers, dancers, bands and clean rap acts.

The latest film from Method 8
Tickets are on sale now for the premiere of "Jackie & the Rabbit's Foot," the latest film from Method 8.
The movie focuses on a couple dealing with a deadly illness and the obstacles they face in finding a cure. The locally shot film stars Brian K. West of Boardman, Joyce Jones of Youngstown, Cassandra Arcenio of Canfield, Alecia DeFrank of Youngstown, Lou O'Neill of Girard, Sheyra Vazquez of Campbell, Edward Frame of Struthers, Solomon Kennedy of Youngstown, Takisha Lambert of Cleveland and Drew Smith of Salem.
The premiere will be at 7 p.m. Sept. 15 at Fairview Arts & Outreach Center, 4220 Youngstown Poland Road, Youngstown. Doors open at 6 p.m. Tickets are $15 and include a dinner and entertainment by India Raven and Toni Zetts. For tickets or more information, call 234-855-7540.
Chorus seeks new members
Stambaugh Chorus will have an open house on Tuesday to welcome potential new members.
The chorus performs several concerts annually in Youngstown and neighboring communities. It aspires to create a deeper appreciation of vocal and instrumental music and welcomes people from all backgrounds to join it.
The open house starts at 6 p.m. in the ballroom of Stambaugh Auditorium, 1000 Fifth Ave., Youngstown, and will be followed by the first rehearsal of the season at 7 p.m.
McGuffey society offers piano concert
Pianist Michael Nichols will perform at 2 p.m. Saturday at the Ursuline Center, 4280 Shields Road, Canfield, as part of a concert presented by the William Holmes McGuffey Historical Society.
Nichols is a graduate of Chaney VPA School and a keyboard major at Youngstown State University's Dana School of Music. He also serves as music director at Disciples Christ Church in Boardman. Also performing will be Anthony Ruggiero and Alyssa Titi.
