SUPPORT GROUP TO MEET: Alzheimer Network Family Support Groups will meet at 7 p.m. today at Girard Free Library, 105 E. Prospect St.

TRUMBULL COUNTY CARES: Trumbull County CARES, a monthly suppport group for children who have lost a parent to addiction or have a parent in active addiction, and those who are caring for them, will meet 6 to 7:30 p.m. Wednesday.

Support groups will be divided into three separate groups to allow age-appropriate sharing -- ages 8 to 12, 13 to 17 and 18 and older. PARKINSON'S UPDATE: The Parkinson's Foundation of Ohio is hosting a free "Lunch and Learn" program, Updates in Parkinson's Research, from 1 to 2 p.m. Thursday at the Jewish Community Center, 505 Gypsy Lane, Youngstown. The program will be presented by Dr. Benjmain Walter, medical director of the Deep Brain Stimulation Program at UH Cleveland Medical Center.

12 STEPS TO SERENITY: A 14-week step study, 12 Steps to Serenity, is being offered from noon to 2 p.m. Sunday, April 15, 22, 29, May 6, 20 and 27, and June 3, to all who are affected by someone else's drinking. The program will be held at the Sahara Club 2, 2345 Youngstown Road SE, Warren, in the Al-Anon room (entrance from the side parking lot).

Anyone with a family member with addiction to alcohol or other substance may join during this time. The group will be closed after April 15.

Attendees need to bring a notepad and writing utensil. Handouts will be provided.

GRIEFSHARE: GriefShare session "Why?" will be held 5 to 7 p.m. Sunday at Leavittsburg Church of God, 610 S. Leavitt Road, Leavittsburg.

Volunteers are welcome to help Crossroads staff in the office by sharing their favorite activities like reading, card games, playing music, or arts and crafts. They may bring their pets to visit patients or run errands and provide respite for family members.
