Sheriff's office investigates woman's death as homicide
COLUMBUS, Ohio (AP) — Authorities say a woman’s body has been found near a park in Ohio and the death is being investigated as a homicide.
The Franklin County Sheriff’s Office says the body of 42-year-old Carianna Faye Beery was found April 25, about 20 to 30 feet off a street in Mifflin Township. The Columbus Dispatch reports that sheriff’s spokesman Marc Gofstein says Beery had lived in the Akron and Columbus areas and frequently traveled between those areas.
A person walking in a park found Beery’s body and reported it to township police.
Gofstein says sheriff’s detectives are investigating and trying to determine how long Beery’s body might have been in the area.
Authorities wouldn’t say how the woman died.
