10:45 a.m.: Board allows Warren liquor option on ballot
WARREN — The Trumbull County Board of Elections on Monday voted to allow a liquor option on the Nov. 3 ballot for voters in Warren City Precinct 3G.
The issue will seek an the on / off-premise Sunday sales of beer, wines, mixed beverages and spirituous liquor at the Pitt Boss BBQ and Gamers.
The board last month omitted the issue from the ballot because it fell eight signatures short of the 186 needed.
However, the backers of the petition drive for Pitt Boss BBQ appealed to the board and a hearing was held Monday.
“They produced ample affidavits from people who lived in the precinct, but, had previously printed their name on the petitions,” said Ronald Massullo, assistant staff director at the Board of Elections. “The signed and notarized affidavits state that they actually did intend to sign the petition.”
