BOYS BASKETBALL
Columbiana 56, Springfield 46 — The Clippers grabbed an early lead and continued to add to it in the season-opening win. Carter Johnson led the Clippers with 16 points, and Cooper Brown added 15 points. Springfield was led by Luke Dyer, who finished with 12 points.
Lisbon 86, Academy of Urban Scholars 30 — The Blue Devils dominated as four finished with double-digit points. Lisbon’s AJ Ramgeet led all scorers with 29 points. Blaine Barnes added 17 points, Ashton Hinchcliffe had 12 points and Aidan Myers chipped in 11 points. Kam Black led Urban Scholars with 16 points, and Lewis Henderson finished with nine points.
GIRLS BASKETBALL
Warren G. Harding 55, Ursuline 43 — Ursuline held a seven-point lead at halftime, but the Raiders outscored the Irish 21-6 in the third quarter to get back into the game. Cayden Reed scored 14 of her 16 points in the third, including four 3-pointers. Trinity Taylor led the Raiders with 17 points and six steals. Mary Moy led the Fighting Irish with 20 points.
