NFL: Bowden signs with Raiders
Former Mahoning Valley football star Lynn Bowden Jr. signed his rookie contract with the Las Vegas Raiders after being one of three third-round picks by the Raiders in the April draft.
Bowden was an all-purpose quarterback at Liberty and Harding in high school, then was a receiver at the University of Kentucky. He filled in at quarterback for the Wildcats in 2019 after several injuries.
The Raiders announced the deals with all seven of their picks on Saturday. The rookies all took tests for COVID-19 earlier in the week and then officially signed their deals. The Raiders had seven picks, led by first-round choices receiver Henry Ruggs III and cornerback Damon Arnette.
Besides Bowden, the Raiders also drafted receiver Bryan Edwards and linebacker Tanner Muse in the third round, and guard John Simpson and cornerback Amik Robertson in the fourth round.
