Zallow shines in Millrose Games

NEW YORK — Former John F. Kennedy High School and Youngstown State University hurdler Chad Zallow had the fastest start out of the outside Lane 8 at Saturday’s Fred Schmertz 60-meter hurdles at the Millrose Games.

He led for the first half of the race and finished third in a time of 7.689 seconds, edged by China’s Wenjun Xie 7.684 for second. Daniel Roberts won in 7.64. Both Roberts and Xie are Nike sponsored runners.

This is the first year Zallow had run professionally, seeking a spot in this year’s Olympic Trials – trying to run for the United States at the 2020 Summer Olympics in Tokyo.
