Scrappers rally past Spikes
STATE COLLEGE, PA — Heading into the top of the seventh inning down four runs, the Scrappers put together a five-run inning to take a 6-5 lead.
The comeback was started by Brayan Rocchio, who singled on a ground ball to centerfield, scoring Henderson De Oleo. George Valera was hit by a pitch that scored Julian Escobedo.
Later in the inning, Will Brennan hit a single that scored three runners due to a fielding error. On a line drive to right field, Brennan scored Rocchio, Bryan Lavastida and Valera.
The game was impacted by a rain delay in the fourth inning that lasted almost an hour.
Andrew Misiaszek picked up the win for the Scrappers throwing three strikeouts over 1 1/3 innings. The win puts the Scrappers at 27-30, seven games out of the Pinckney Division lead.
The Scrappers return home Saturday for a series against the Batavia Muckdogs. They will play a doubleheader on Sunday starting at 2:05 after Tuesday’s game was postponed.
