Kirila Memorial race results

HARTFORD — The Bill Kirila Memorial was run Saturday at Sharon Speedway, finally putting successfully completed race cards ahead of rained out nights, 9-8, in the 90th anniversary season of the track.

Winners on Saturday were Cole Duncan of Grove City, Ohio, in the Hovis Auto & Truck Supply 410 Sprint Cars; Paul Davis of Fowler in the Gibson Insurance Agency Stock Cars, Chas Wolbert of Warren in the HTMA/Precise Racing Products RUSH Sportsman Modifieds and Jacob Eucker of Fowler in the Summit Racing Equipment Econo Mods.

Duncan won the May 11 410 race at Sharon sanctioned by FAST, and finished third in the Lou Blaney Memorial on July 6. He led all 30 laps on Saturday night.

Davis, 59, hadn’t won at Sharon since June 2017, but Saturday’s win was the 23rd in the division in his career.

Wolbert, 25, is the track’s top winner of 2019 with his third win in his division. He also became the division’s all-time leading feature winner with his 12th career victory.

Coming up Saturday (Aug. 17) is the second and final appearance by the FAST Series for the 410 Sprint Cars in a $3,000-to-win. The Menards Super Series card also includes the rescheduled Bickerstaff Cup Series race No. 3 for the Outlaw Mods, paying $1,200-to-win, the RUSH Sportsman Modified Touring Series for their Manufacturers Night for $600-to-win, RUSH Sprint Cars and Econo Mods. Race time is 7 p.m.
