Zallow, Elliott seasons end
BIRMINGHAM, Ala. — Chad Zallow and Jaliyah Elliott saw both of their seasons end on Friday night at the NCAA Indoor Track and Field Championships at the Birmingham CrossPlex.
Zallow, a Youngstown State University senior hurdler and sprinter, ran a time of 7.787 seconds in the 60m hurdles, just missing the finals by .003 seconds.
Zallow, a John F. Kennedy High School graduate, finished fifth in the first of two heats. South Carolina’s Isaiah Moore took the eighth and final spot in today’s finals with 7.784 seconds. Florida’s Grant Holloway, the two-time defending national champion in the 60 hurdles, ran the fastest time of 7.44 seconds.
Zallow and Elliott were awarded second-team, All-American honors on Friday.
Zallow completes his career with a third-, fifth- and two ninth-place finishes in his YSU career.
Elliott, who was running in her first NCAA Championships, ran 7.36 seconds in the 60m dash. She finished with the 15th-fastest time. LSU’s Isaiah Moore had the fastest time going to finals of 7.15 seconds.
