YSU: Penguins to host NDSU

YOUNGSTOWN — The Youngstown State football team will play seven home games in the 2019 season, including a Nov. 2 meeting with defending FCS national champion — and Missouri Valley Football Conference champion — North Dakota State.

The Penguins are playing 12 regular season games, adding the Guardian Credit Union FCS Kickoff on Aug. 24 in Montgomery, Alabama, against Samford. It is the earliest regular-season game in school history.

Following that game, the Penguins play at Stambaugh Stadium against Howard (Sept. 7), Duquesne (Sept. 14) and Robert Morris (Sept. 28).

YSU opens MVFC play at Northern Iowa on Oct. 5. The Penguins play South Dakota State on Oct. 12 at home, go to Southern Illinois on Oct. 19, then return home for Western Illinois (Oct. 26) and North Dakota State.

Two straight road games — Nov. 9 at South Dakota and Nov. 16 at Indiana State — preceded the season finale, at home against Illinois State on Nov. 23.

Season tickets and Penguin Club memberships for the campaign are available for $120 by calling 330-941-1YSU. Season-ticket and Penguin Club renewal information will be sent out this spring. Hospitality tent reservations are also available by contact the Athletics Marketing Office at 330-941-7227.
