Boys Basketball

Canfield 61, Howland 58 – The Tigers erased a 17-point deficit and Alex Henry tied the game at 58 with just over 2 seconds left. But, Ryan Petro played hero for the Cardinals, hitting a 3-pointer at the buzzer, which was his only field goal of the game, to secure a victory over the Tigers. Jake Grdic led Canfield with 22 points while Zane Muckleroy added 17 points. Anthony Massucci led Howland with 23 and Henry added 22.

Western Reserve 68, Sebring 23 – David Ashburn scored a game-high 18 points as the Blue Devils dominated the Trojans in a convincing victory. Hayden Fellows and Josh Serensky scored 11 points apiece in the win as well.

Jefferson 66, Poland 46 – The Falcons battled back from a low-scoring first quarter to take command of the ball game and never look back. Ross Dedo led the Bulldogs scoring effort with 24 points and Christian Colosimo added 13 in the loss.

LaBrae 63, Crestview 29 – Aidan Stephens scored 17 points and Blake Kahnell led the way for the Vikings with 19 in a blowout victory over the Raiders.

Campbell 55, Newton Falls 53 – The Tigers pushed the Red Devils to the edge Friday night but couldn’t pull out the victory in a close matchup. Kevin Moore and Jameer Weaver each scored 16 points to lead Campbell and Xavion Leonard added 10. Alex Pennington led the Tigers with a team-high 22 points.

South Range 45, Niles 36 – Landon Moore scored a team-high 9 points and five Raiders scored 5 points or more en route to a 9 points win. Robt Strickland scored a game-high 13 points for the Red Dragons.

Mathews 75, Chalker 56 – Four Mustangs reached double figures as Mathews took down Chalker to move to 19-1 on the season and 14-0 in the Northeastern Athletic Conference. Vinny Sharp had a game-high 27 points, Dominic Greenwood scored 16, Ethan Petak had 11 and Tyler Hopkinson added 10. Jordan Kellar led the Wildcats (7-9, 5-8) with 23 points.

Fairport 76, Badger 64 – Jack Lendak scored 21 points but it wasn’t enough for the Braves as the Skippers had four score in double-digits. Sam Honkala and Josh Parsons combined for 45 points.

Alliance 57, Salem 48 – The Quakers only shot 3 free throws in comparison to Alliance’s 28 in a 9 point loss Friday night. Drew Weir scored a game-high 18 points in the loss for Salem.
