Friday highlights

≤ Lakeview had no issues with the bats Friday, unleashing 21 runs on 25 hits in a win over Ashtabula Edgewood. Kylie Imes, Gianna Caruso and Maggie Pavlansky each had four hits. Reagan Schick, Abbie Campana and Mariah Tackett each had three. Tackett, Imes and Schick hit back-to-back-to-back home runs in the top of the seventh inning to further extend the Bulldogs’ lead.

≤ McDonald senior Bri Callow pitched a two-hitter and struck out 16 and also received a lot of help from Lucia Wolford in the the Blue Devils’ 3-2 win over host Lowellville. Wolford tied the game at 1 when she stole home on a delayed steal in the top of the fourth inning, but the Rockets took a 2-1 lead in the bottom of the fourth. With two outs in the fifth, Wolford’s RBI single tied the game again. She then scored what proved to be the winning run on an error.
