ABOUT ST. VINCENT-ST. MARY: The Irish are trying to regain their footing after being blanked by rival and defending Division II state champion Akron Hoban.

ABOUT LOUISVILLE: The Leopards gave up 406 rushing yards to Massillon Perry, but hung with the Federal League opponent until the Panthers hit a last-second field goal to knock off Louisville.

at Niles McKinley (4-1, 1-1)

ABOUT SOUTH RANGE: The Raiders sent Girard home last week with its first Northeast-8 and loss of the season. South Range rushed for 366 yards and four touchdowns to put away the Indians.

ABOUT NILES: The Red Dragons couldn’t solve their Poland problem as the Bulldogs ran roughshod once against over Niles McKinley. All Niles could muster was a late touchdown with less than 4 minutes remaining.

ABOUT KENNEDY: Jesse Likens and Michael Mauro combined for nearly 250 yards as the Kennedy duo paced the Eagles on the road — near Toledo.

ABOUT CAMPBELL: Christian Stores passed for 274 yards and three scores to lead the Red Devils in a loss to Liberty. Campbell was held to less than 50 yards rushing. The Red Devils gave up more than 350 yards rushing.

Poland (3-2, 2-0)

at Girard (4-1, 1-1)

WHERE: Arrowhead Stadium, Girard

ABOUT POLAND: The Bulldogs rallied for two straight wins after a 1-2 start. It was a team effort for Poland as it had 370 yards of offense with 267 on the ground with three touchdowns. The Bulldogs held Niles McKinley to 164 yards of total offense — including 23 rushing.

ABOUT GIRARD: Morgan Clardy and Jimmy Jones combined for almost 200 yards, but it wasn’t enough as South Range rushed for more than 350 yards as the Raiders won their first NE-8 game.

Mineral Ridge (4-1, 1-1)

at Lowellville (4-1, 1-1)

ABOUT MINERAL RIDGE: Shakir Perkins had 24 carries for 151 yards and two scores to lead the Rams past Jackson-Milton in a game which was about dead even in team statistics.

ABOUT LOWELLVILLE: Vinny Kacir had 20 carries for 222 yards and a score to lead the Rockets over Sebring.
