WGH to salute military tonight

WARREN — Warren City School District is pleased to announce that tonight’s Austintown Fitch at Warren G. Harding football game will be a “Military Appreciation Game.”

The game is the featured Air Force “Battle for the Bell Game” sponsored by the 311th Recruiting Squadron/ Bravo Flight, courtesy of Staff Sgt. Brandon Poturica.

Representatives from the Air Force will be on hand at Warren’s Mollenkopf Stadium to interact with the student sections and present the winning team with the Bell Trophy.

Harding’s team will be suited up in camouflage jerseys sponsored by the Ohio National Guard. This past summer, the team spent a day at Camp Garfield focusing on team building activities led by National Guard Officers and the WGH coaching staff. The jerseys are provided through the Operation Buckeye Guard Program in partnership with the Ohio High School football Coaches Association.

Military personnel (current and past) with proper military identification will receive free admission and be recognized at the game.
