SOFTBALL

Bristol’s Lindsay Miller had four hits and two RBIs to lead the Panthers past Windham, 7-2.

Arianna Geordan had 11 strikeouts, had no walks and allowed a solo home run in LaBrae’s win over Grand Valley, 11-1. Marissa Roberts and Kaitlin Gibson combined to go 7-for-7.

Lena Wallace and Bella Spano had a combined six RBIs as Mathews beat Maplewood, 16-4.

Conchetta Rinaldi hit for the cycle and drove in four runs as Cardinal Mooney beat Hubbard 9-2 in a Division II Youngstown State District sectional bracket final.

Newton Falls’ Sophie Tvaroch pitched a six-hit gem and also scored the winning run in the Tigers’ 2-1 Division III Sectional bracket final victory over Garfield on Thursday. With the game tied at 1, Tvaroch singled to start the sixth. She stole second, was bunted to third and Joe’l Hood hit a sac fly to right-center field to drive her in. Tvaroch also struck out seven and walked two in earning the win. Newton Falls now plays LaBrae at 3:30 Tuesday in a district semifinal.

BASEBALL

John F. Kennedy’s Peyton Comer and London Hua combined for a five-inning no-hitter in the Eagles’ 14-0 shutout of Chaney. Comer struck out six and walked one in four innings, while Hua struck out one in his one inning of work. Gavin Shrum paced the offense with three hits, a double, and two RBIs.

Lukas Mosora had three RBIs, including a solo home run to lead Hubbard past Liberty, 16-3.
