Thursday highlights

SOFTBALL

Sophie Tvarich hit three of four with five RBIs in the Tigers’ win over Ravenna Southeast on Thursday. Tvarich also threw seven strikeouts and got the win. Joel Hood and Zoe McElrath each ended with two hits for the Tigers.

Allison Smith threw nine strikeouts in Champion’s 2-0 victory over the defending Division I State Champions, Massillon Perry. Smith is undefeated on the year. Emma Gumont added two hits with a double in the win.

Kayla Switzer threw nine strikeouts in Bristol’s 18-2 win over Bloomfield. Switzer finished the game with two hits, both of which were triples. Her sister Kendyl had three hits in the win.

Five players for Mathews ended with two or more hits in their 14-1 win over Maplewood. Ashley Deans got three hits and each of Grace Simon, Becca Landis, Kylee Nicholson and Kaylen McCollum finished with two hits. Landis also threw three strikeouts.

Hubbard’s Grace Narkum had walk-off double in bottom of the seventh inning to lift the Eagles past Howland, 10-9.

Haylee Mott went 3-for-3 with three RBIs to lead Badger past Grand Valley, 11-6.

Bailey Drapola had a three-run home run to lead Brookfield over Lordstown in a slugfest, 16-11.

BASEBALL

Ryan Stoller had four RBIs to lead Garfield over Pymatuning Valley in five innings, 12-0.
