Rasile breaks his own record; Fitch girls clinch

McDONALD 72, LOWELLVILLE 54: LOWELLVILLE — Zach Rasile had another record-setting night forthe Blue Devils in a win over the Rockets in a Mahoning Valley Athletic Conference game.

Rasile broke his own single-season scoring record from the 2017-18 season where he had 645 points. Rasile has 669 after his 27-point night against Lowellville.

Jake Portolese added 16 points for the Blue Devils (11-7, 9-5 MVAC), Cam Tucker scored 12, while Youngstown State University football commit Josh Celli added 11.

MINERAL RIDGE 79, SEBRING 77: MINERAL RIDGE — Joe Rozzi had a team-high 20 points to lead the Rams past the Trojans in MVAC play.

Koby and Jordan Zupko each had 14 points, while Maurice Clark had 12 and Triston Weiss put in 10 for Mineral Ridge (13-8, 8-6).

WESTERN RESERVE 43, JACKSON-MILTON 31: NORTH JACKSON — A 14-point game by Noah Klasic propelled Western Reserve over the Blue Jays.

Nick McGinnis made 9-of-10 from the free-throw line and drained a 3-pointer to give him 12 points, leading the Blue Jays (2-17, 0-14).


AUSTINTOWN FITCH 65, CANFIELD 58: AUSTINTOWN — Sabrian Hunter had a team-high 22 points to lead the Falcons to its third conference championship in 25 years — capturing the All-American Conference, Red Tier title. Fitch (15-5, 8-1 AAC Red) won titles in 1994 and 2014. The Falcons go for the outright title tonight against Lakeside. Daria Williams added 14 points, while Taylor Fronk had 12 and Mia Jackson put in 11.

MINERAL RIDGE 60, SEBRING 24: MINERAL RIDGE — The Rams closed out their regula season with a Mahoning Valley Athletic Conference rout led by Fran Kesner and Alexa Harkins. Ridge closes the season with a 12-10 record, including a 7-7 mark in the MVAC.

Kesner scored 24 points and Harkins had 15, while Morgan Sigley contributed 10 points for Ridge.

The Rams’ defense blanked Sebring ina 12-0 first quarter. Mineral Ridge led 28-12 at halftime and 49-20 after three quarters.
