PV pulls away from Badger; GV, Bristol win


¯ PYMATUNING VALLEY 76, BADGER 59: ANDOVER — The Lakers quickly erased a halftime deficit by dominating the second half of a Northeastern Athletic Conference showdown with Badger.

Kendall Baker scored a game-high 25 points (13 in the second half) for PV (13-7, 6-5). She was one of four Lakers to score in double figures in the second half. Caelan Fisher, Ashley Hall and Morgan McClure all scored 11 of their 15 points in the second half.

¯ STRUTHERS 54, HUBBARD 43: HUBBARD — A rough fourth quarter ruined Hubbard’s upset bid against Struthers.

The Eagles (4-15, 2-11) trailed by one entering the final 8 minutes, but Struthers (13-7) outscored them, 18-8, to pull away. The Wildcats’ Emma Elia scored seven of her 14 in the fourth quarter to fuel the run. Renee Leonard scored 14 for Struthers.

Madison Casey scored a game-high 19 points for Hubbard, which led 24-22 at halftime.

¯ POLAND 62, NILES 30: POLAND — The balanced attack of the Bulldogs kept Poland undefeated as they rolled through Niles.

Twelve players of the 13 who saw playing time from Poland (19-0,12-0) registered points, none of whom reached double-figures. Jackie Grisdale and Kat Partika each scored nine, and Kailyn Brown added eight.

Niles (10-10, 9-4) had two players reach double-figures. Nae Fryer scored 12 points and Chante Clinkscale scored 10.

¯ GRAND VALLEY 59, MATHEWS 36: ORWELL — Grand Valley had 11 players score points on their way to a conference victory over Mathews.

Megan Hopes and Genesis Foltz each scored 10 points to lead Grand Valley (9-10, 5-7). Alalise Canfield contributed nine.

Mathews (7-12, 3-8) was led by Carlie Pratt, who scored 19 points. Ashley Deans scored 12 points.

¯ COLUMBIANA 67, MINERAL RIDGE 34: COLUMBIANA — Columbiana got a big game from Kayla Muslovski on its way to a huge victory over Mineral Ridge.

Muslovski scored 31 points to lead the Clippers (17-3). Tessa Liggett scored 13 points and Kennedy Fullum added 12.

Alexa Harkins led the Rams (11-10), scoring 17 points. Fran Kesner contributed 10.

¯ BRISTOL 39, LORDSTOWN 25: BRISTOLVILLE — The NAC Stripes champion Bristol Panthers came out and won on Senior Night, taking down the Lordstown Red Devils.

Kendyl Switzer scored 14 points to pace the Panthers (13-7, 10-1). Bella Zirzow added 13 points. Bristol outscored Lordstown 12-5 in the fourth quarter, sealing the victory.

Kaylynn Higinbotham drained four 3-pointers, leading the Red Devils (7-9, 5-5) with 12 points.
