LaBrae closes Blue Tier season with rout; Flashes, NF win

LABRAE 73, CRESTVIEW 41: LEAVITTSBURG — The Vikings blew open a 31-21 halftime lead with a 32-7 third quarter in the All-American Conference Blue Tier rout. LaBrae (18-3, 12-2) closed out their Blue Tier schedule finishing second in the league behind Edgewood.

Benton Tennant scored 22 points to lead LaBrae, while Tyler Stephens, Walt Allie and Connor Meyer allied 11 each.

CHAMPION 62, LIBERTY 54: LIBERTY — Abe Bayus led the Golden Flashes over Liberty with his 16 points.

Bayus was one of four reaching double-figures for Champion (14-8, 9-5). Joe Abramovich scored 14 points, Nich Stahlman scored 13 points and Chase Wheelock added 11.

Micah Dukes scored 14 points, leading the Leopards (7-15, 6-8). Travis Myers and Ezell Brown each scored 13 points.

NEWTON FALLS 66, CAMPBELL 52: CAMPBELL — A big fourth quarter by Newton Falls allowed the Tigers to pull away from Campbell in an AAC Blue Tier game.

Newton Falls (12-9, 9-5) held a 41-37 lead going into the fourth quarter, but the Tigers outscored Campbell 25-15 in the final frame. Adam Honeycutt scored eight of his team-high 18 points in the fourth. Gage Friend added six of his 14 in the decisive quarter. Josh Honeycutt sank four 3-pointers and finished with 14 points.

Campbell’s Raysean Hicks led all scorers with 20 points, while Xavion Leonard added 14.

EDGEWOOD 69, BROOKFIELD 32: BROOKFIELD — Trailing 32-10 at halftime, Brookfield battled back in the third quarter, cutting their deficit to 46-30 in the All-American Conference Blue Tier game. But tier champion Edgewood (13-0 in tier) responded with a 23-2 fourth quarter.

Brady Reichart led the Warriors (9-13, 4-10) with 16 points and seven rebounds, and Conner Stevens added eight points.
